Rhoberta Haley PhD, RN, FNP

With over 40 years of experience as a nurse educator, she has taught at all levels of nursing and has served in leadership roles as director, dean, chief academic officer, and campus president. She has served as a state representative to The Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action and on the Hawaii State Center for Nursing board.

As an academic nursing leader, administrator, and consultant, Rhoberta has focused on the development and revision of nursing programs that address social disparities of health, developed innovative strategies to provide robust student learning support, and supported minority-serving institutions to launch and develop nursing programs that support diverse students and faculty.

She is a family nurse practitioner who has practiced in a variety of settings while also precepting more than 300 nurse practitioner students and other healthcare professionals. Her clinical interest focuses on providing palliative care benefits and services for patients and families who are managing serious chronic illness, and supporting individuals and families experiencing homelessness to access and utilize healthcare.
